SPECIALIST REGISTRATION via SARAWAK MEDICAL COMMITTEE

The Sarawak Medical Committee (SMC) is responsible for assessing applications from Malaysian and non-Malaysian specialists who wish to practise exclusively in Sarawak. All assessments are conducted in accordance with national standards, while taking into account Sarawak’s specific healthcare needs.

Registration through the SMC is open to medical practitioners who hold specialist qualifications that are not listed in the Fourth Schedule, as well as Malaysian practitioners with listed specialist qualifications whose specialist training may be indeterminate or unstructured. This registration pathway is specifically intended for specialists seeking employment in Sarawak only.
