All medical practitioners registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) are subject to the provisions of the Medical Act 1971 and its regulations. The MMC also provides guidelines to regulate the standards of practice, professional conduct and ethics of registered medical practitioners which must be observed by all practitioners. Failure to comply with these legal provisions and guidelines may result in disciplinary action under Section 29 of the Medical Act 1971.
